I worked for her, and she had her own accounting firm. I loved everything about what she did, and she set my business up so I could go and do it too. That was 2006 and I have been at it here ever since.

I do what I was taught to do, and I love doing it, because I get to watch small business owners breathe. Most of us do not breathe very often. You are good at the thing you opened the doors to do, and then somebody hands you a letter full of words you have never seen and asks what you are going to do about it.
Bookkeeping is the part I love most. Not because it is glamorous, but because nobody knows where their money is going, and I do. Once your books are straight I can tell you that you are spending too much here and starving something over there, and that is a conversation that changes a business.
Anybody can file a return. Anybody can go online and set up a business. Your books are the bread and butter, and if you do not understand them you are guessing. When your bank needs something, they can call me and we handle it without you having to think about it.
Everything here gets done decently and in order, effectively and efficiently. That is what I stand on, and I want it to reach you that way.

If you need to check behind me, we will both be miserable.
The first thing I ask anybody is whether they want me looking over what they are already doing, or doing it. Both are real answers and I will take either one. But most people who start at the first end up at the second, usually because life happens and the books are the thing that slips.
What I am good at is being the person you hand it to and stop thinking about. That takes trust, and it is worth saying out loud before we start rather than finding out later.
However far behind it is. The first conversation is free and it is not a sales call.
